Q. Are these baby carriers complicated to use?

Well, if they were, "SimpleSlings.com" would be a silly name, wouldn't it??

Joking aside, there is a tiny bit of a learning curve as you become comfortable with the Simple Sling, just as there's a bit of a learning curve with anything new you try. Be honest... was your first diaper change perfect?

To make it super easy, we include a free CD-Rom with complete step-by-step video instructions. A printed set of instructions is also provided. Though those instructions are usually plenty, we are available by phone to assist you with any specific problems that come up while you are learning.

Q. What is the age/weight limit for the Simple Sling?

We recommend a weight limit of 35 pounds. This limit is for the safety of the babywearer's back, as 35 pounds is the weight at which the average adult becomes uncomfortable carrying a child on the hip. On average, children reach this weight around 2-3 years of age.

Q. Will the Simple Sling fit me?

Our standard size Simple Sling is designed to fit a wearer from petite size 2 to up to a women's size 20.

This sizing allows enough tail for a person of medium build up to a height of 5'8" tall to have enough tail left to cover the baby for privacy. A person of slight build should pay close attention to the CD-Rom video clip titled "Tips for Petite wearers". A person of larger build may need to use a blanket for covering the baby instead of the tail. The Simple Sling will fit a person much taller than 5'8", with the tail length being the only difference. So if Daddy is taller, he can wear the same sling as Mommy, but he may not have as much tail to cover the baby.

Q. Why choose the Simple Sling over a "pouch" style sling?

Two specific reasons:


Versatility: At least 6 different positions are possible with the Simple Sling because of the ability to use the rings to adjust the sides of the sling independently. You can use your Simple Sling to literally mimic the way you use your arms to hold your baby in his or her favorite position, right from the start. With a pouch, the baby must "grow into" certain positions because the pouch always stays the same size.

Fit: Buying online is great, but with shipping costs, it can get expensive when you have to make exchanges if you choose the wrong size. Also, if you find a pouch that fits you well with a newborn, you may find yourself shopping for a new one as the baby gets older (and bigger!).

Because of the adjustability afforded by the Simple Sling's rings, this sling will fit you, Daddy, Grandma, or anyone else close enough to share the joy of wearing him or her!

Q. Can I have a Simple Sling made with a custom fabric of my choice?

We try our best to fill requests for custom orders. Sometimes, we just get too busy. In that case, we can give you an estimated timeframe for when we will start accepting new custom orders.

Q. How do I wash my Simple Sling?

All of our carriers are completely machine washable. We recommend a cold wash cycle and hanging to dry. (But if we're being honest, we do always throw ours in the dryer on low! You know your dryer and yourself best. If either of you has a tendency to shrink things, go with the line dry method...)

Q. I am looking for the Simple ABC- where is it ?

The Simple ABC Asian-style baby carrier is lovingly made by hand, piece by piece. Currently, our designer and seamstress of the Simple ABC has her hands full with a newborn baby and is taking some time to enjoy a "babymoon". Don't worry, it's not gone forever, and if you'd like to get on a waiting list, let us know!
